How can Rickshaw Trading Company help me with product development and to determine product and cost feasibility?

By working together early in the project, we can discuss what will be needed to develop the concept into a product. We have a variety of creative resources to assist with design, sculpting, sample making and package design needs. Once we have a design package, we will send it to our Asian team (including project and cost engineers and buying team) to review with multiple suppliers to determine cost, timing, schedule and next steps to bring the product to reality.

How can Rickshaw Trading Company help me with developing a range of products to support a seasonal or promotional program?

We are constantly in touch with our 200+ suppliers to keep current with what new designs and best selling products are being developed. Once we know your initial ideas and intent, we can create a style guide and designs to review with you. Once the design concepts have been reviewed we will forward to our Asia team and suppliers to begin sample development.

Can I get “custom” and “exclusive “ products for my company.

Rickshaw Trading Company can work with you to develop unique product designs for your company. If you provide the artwork, we are confident our suppliers will produce designs with exclusivity. If we adapt the suppliers design to your needs, we can also get product exclusivity.

Can Rickshaw Trading Company help my company save money on product costs?

Rickshaw Trading Company uses a network of over 200 suppliers and will gain multiple quotations on a project. Prices often vary based on design, quality needed and quantity. We will work with you to help design the right product for your customer and ensure we pick the correct supplier. The supplier prices are carefully reviewed and negotiated on your behalf. We have a proven track record of saving money on projects and our relationships with proven suppliers help us to achieve cost targets. We are confident our pricing can beat other sourcing companies.

Will Rickshaw Trading Company provide product development and consulting support to my company?

We can discuss they type of support you need and are willing to use our expertise to help you in developing product, assessing your suppliers, determining the appropriate quality testing required and review any social compliance needs a customer may have.

What type of quantity is needed for a project?

Projects can be handled for small and large projects. Prices usually vary by quantity, product complexity, quality requirements and supplier capacity. Rickshaw Trading Company has been successful at working smaller projects into the non-peak production times of a factory and realizing lower prices. Suppliers understand a customer often has small and large projects and they are willing to work with us on small business needs. In many cases, an initial small order results in a larger rerun.

Is all the sourcing done in China?

While China is the primary supplier for most projects, we also utilize suppliers in Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, India and Sri Lanka as needed. In many cases each country will have unique raw materials and craft skills. Often the duty rate for product from non-China countries is lower. Rickshaw Trading Company will review all projects for the lowest total cost supply line- to include unit cost, freight, duty and time.

We have our own purchasing team- Can Rickshaw Trading Company still help us?

Our supplier base is most likely different than yours and our category experience and supplier relationships may be stronger in some areas. Your team may not have the expertise or supplier knowledge for many new product materials and items. As a small company with access to a large proven supply base, we pride ourselves on low cost, speed and flexibility. In many cases where your internal resources are not able to support a project, we can provide a complimentary fit and another set of quotes for you to review. Internal costs to travel Asia and do sourcing are expensive and time-consuming. We believe we can simplify the sourcing rigors for your company and save you money.

Can Rickshaw Trading Company ensure product is not produced by a factory with underage labor and unsafe work practices?

Most of our suppliers have been trained and are approved to support multi-national company code of conduct and social compliance programs. As such, the suppliers are used to complying with multi-national requirements for wages, hours, age and safety requirements. We can conduct compliance audits as needed to ensure expectations are met.

Can Rickshaw Trading Company meet our product specifications and requirements?

Product specifications and quality requirements will be discussed early in the process and before any production is done. Often we will suggest improvements to a product design to ensure lower costs and reliability in manufacturing. Our team of engineers will work with the suppliers to ensure product and quality expectations are exceeded. We will coordinate testing requirements as needed. Our goal is to deliver product that exceeds your expectations.

How do we pay for Rickshaw Trading services?

We will work early on to determine the product scope, support and services needed by your company and we will quote each project to include the agreed upon services. Typically, we will quote a project based on FOB Asia port delivery or based on USA delivery to your location. We will also clarify any development expenses, pre-production costs and payment terms required on the project.
